Writing Your Wedding Vows

You're reading Writing Your Wedding Vows, posted on Thursday, September 18th, 2008 at 12:35 pm in Wedding Ceremony, on BrainBloggers at the Wedding Plans blog. More after the jump.

When it comes to your wedding vows you have two options; recite the usual lines that the pastor tells you to or create your own vows and recite them to your partner. Either way will work – but writing your own vows is more romantic and is a better way for you to express your love.

With that being said it is important to remember that writing your vows should start and end with how you feel. You should never write what other people want to hear only what you want to say to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. We have provided some suggestions that will help you to compose the perfect vows.

- Where or how did the two of you meet?
- What was your life like before you met?
- When did you know that you loved them and how did it feel?
- How does your loved one inspire you?
-What dreams and goals do you share?
- What have you learned from them?
- Why is your love different and what makes it strong?
- What in life do you look forward to with your new partner?
- List special moments in your relationship.

Reading these vows to your loved one during the ceremony is one of the most romantic things that you can do and that your loved one will ever do for you. It helps to create your wedding and makes it more real. It is also very personal – which means that it is more special because no one can duplicate it.
